My wife Urmila Rajvanshy and I have been members of the senior program at ICC Milpitas since 2007. I was working in the capacity of Chief Engineer PHED in Jaipur, Rajastan until 1990. I then worked until 1994 as an advisor CPHEEO for the Indian government. My organization was part of the Ministry of Works and Housing located in Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
After retiring from government service, I worked in the Jaipur office for an American company, M/S Montgomery Watson, until 2003.
We have a son and a daughter both living in the Bay Area, who are both American citizens. We have been coming to visit them regularly since 2004 and my wife and I are now green card holders.
The India Community Center at Milpitas is like a second home for us here in the US. The center continually engages the community to interact through programs on current affairs, music, and performing arts. It also has a physical fitness center with all kinds of gadgets to keep you up in good physical condition. The center has facilities of canteen and it is serving subsidized meals for all its senior program members. Besides there is a computer and good facilities for indoor games.
We attend the senior citizen programs regularly; the center has excellent facilities for recreation and socializing, which is much needed for people our age who have a lot of time at their disposal. But ICC serves as a unifying force for Indians of all ages.
We urge upon entire Indian community living in this area to become members of this center.
